As part of a sociology class, I was to create a blog on a topic of interest to me based on the text that we are reading. I must say that all of the topics discussed in sociology are quite interesting but the two that I want to discuss now are domestic violence as well as the inequality between men and women.
Domestic Violence is a subject that hits very close to home with me. I was raised in a family where it occured often. My mother was a victim of domestic violence on more than one occation with more than one man. I am not sure why, but it seemed that she would leave one relationship that was bad for her and walk right into another that was just as bad. From what I am learning, this seems to be a trend among women that have been abused.
I am hoping to get a conversation going here with anyone that would like to contribute. I am very interested in learning about what other people know and think about why this seems to be a vicious cycle and how to help people get out of these situations.
I am also interesting in hearing about what others think about inequality between men and women and how you think it effects society.
I will be posting on here as I find new facts and information and look forward to what others might have to say as well.
